  1. Dear Eliane Damasceno,

I recently found your contact whilst doing some research on craft development.
I am a masters student, based in Borneo currently writing a thesis on “Craft development within rural indigenous communities in Sarawak, Malaysia”, I also help to run a small social enterprise helping craftswomen to develop and sell their work.

After seeing your professional CV I am in admiration of all of the wonderful work you do in assisting craft makers to develop products, and creating sustainable initiatives for indigenous communities.
For my thesis I am exploring the application of stategies and initiatives for craft development, skill upgrading and knowledge sharing.

I was hoping you would be able to share some of your knowledge and experience with me?

Can you advise me on any journal papers, studies or articles (written by you or other NGOs/ academics) which clearly state the methodological processes needed to under take craft development within communities, and steps to assess and develop indigenous craft?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my email, and your kind consideration in sharing some research with me.

Once again congratulations on your exciting work, I look forward to hearing from you.

    Warm regards,

    Catriona Maddocks

    • Dear Catriona,

Sorry for just responding to you now. For a long time I have not updated the website and did not see your message until today.
Thank you for you interest and encouragement. I am no longer working with artisans only but mainly in youth education and development in Brazil.

There some organizations that has been discussing crafts development, such Aid to Artisans, Craft Revival and Prince Claus Fund with its Journal 10 – The Future is Handmade, that I great admire.

If still relevant I can send you some materials I have from different sources and years. We can also st up a SKYPE or Hangout to talk about it.

Please let me know if I can be of any help.

      Warm Regards.
      Eliane
